Middlesboro Middle School held an assembly on April 10, 2019, to address the bullying/harassment issues between students. The district goal is to alleviate and/or improve any bullying issues among our students.
The guest speakers were; Robbie Yoakum - Bell District Court Judge, Chris Douglas - Bell Assistant Co. Atty, Michael Bradley - Middlesboro Police Department (Petie Gilbert was at training this week), Diane Hughlett - a therapist with Intrust Mental Health Services and Melissa Watson - case manager with Intrust Mental Health Services.
Speakers addressed the emotional effects on victim(s) and how these actions can lead to legal consequences for the student committing the act(s).
Middlesboro Independent Schools also provides a Harassment, Intimidation & Bullying Reporting Tool that allows users to submit information on any incidents or potential issues. Our administration can utilize this tool to investigate into any bullying incidents pertaining to their students. The tool offers features that allow a user-friendly opportunity for anyone to submit reporting to keep your school safe!
