Sam Wansley, GEAR UP College and Career Readiness Coordinator, shared with students the accomplishments and struggles of African Americans during a recent program at Middlesboro Middle School. Mr. Wansley discussed the importance of celebrating of Black History Month as well as being tolerant of all people everyday. Furthermore, he sang several Negro spirituals and challenged students to decode the meaning in the song.
