During the summer of 2016, Middlesboro Elementary received a welcomed addition to the school, the addition of the Bell-Whitley Pre-School/Headstart
Recently five Preschool/Head Start classrooms transitioned from the former Middlesboro Intermediate School to the Middlesboro Elementary School. This movement will allow for smoother transitions from Pre-K to Kindergarten. Transition activities between Preschool and Kindergarten will be easier to coordinate now that we are all in the same building. Head Start/ Pre-K staff will have opportunities to communicate with the Kindergarten teaching staff and this will allow more effective planning by the Head Start/Pre K staff, which will enhance School Readiness for preschool children.
