Middlesboro Independent Schools Education Foundation

Our Mission

The mission of the Middlesboro Independent Schools Education Foundation is to support the staff and students of the Middlesboro Independent School District in providing quality educational opportunities for all.

What is the Middlesboro Independent Schools Education Foundation?

We are a private, independent, 501(C)3, non-profit corporation whose major purpose is to enrich the educational program of the Middlesboro Independent School District.

The business affairs of the Foundation are managed by a Board of Directors comprised of Middlesboro area citizens.  The Superintendent of the Middlesboro Independent School District is an additional non-voting member of the Board.

The Foundation believes the education of our children is of paramount importance to Middlesboro.  Our children are the guardians of the future and each must be given the finest academic, intellectual and extracurricular opportunities to be prepared for their future.

Given the challenge in funding of public education in the state of Kentucky, the Foundation will develop financial support for the school district.  All financial support will be used to supplement the existing educational program of the school district.

Projects and activities of the Foundation

  • Project Lead The Way - Over $50,000 raised to supply computers, software, training.
  • Golf4Grants - Golf tournament to provide teacher grants used to supplement classroom instruction.  2016 Tournament June, 10.
  • Alumni and Friends - Activities to increase community awareness and involvement.
  • Future projects the Foundation will support include, but will not be limited to, general classroom supplies, computers or other teaching technology, library and textbook resources, field trips, staff development, extracurricular programs, scholarships, and capital projects.
