Teachers Make Presentations at Promising Practices Summit

 

 

 

 

Seven teachers from the Middlesboro Independent School district presented their Learning Innovation Grant projects at the 2015 Promising Practices Summit in Pikeville, Kentucky on October 28, 2015.   The Summit showcased learning innovation in the eastern Kentucky region as a direct result of the Race to the Top/Appalachian Renaissance Initiative (ARI) grants that were awarded to Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (KVEC) and 17 outstanding rural school districts.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Teachers who were awarded the Learning Innovation grants of $1,000.00 to use on a specific Action Research project in their classrooms were:

 

Kristy Lewis – “Telling the Tale”

Angela Green – “Extra! Extra! Read All About It"

Randy Rose – “The Greenhouse Effect”

Prudie Thomas – “The Blended Learning Library”

Mary Allen – “Speech Therapy Bursts”

Amy Martin and Jenna Voges – “Developing Future Engineers – Science Olympiad”
