STEM Activities at MMS

Ryann Tong feeds her LEGO dog a bone.

Several students at MMS have been participating in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities this year in parternship with a project sponsored by the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (KVEC).  KVEC has loaned the school LEGO Mindstorms Robot Kits, Parrot minidrones, engineering costruction kits, and various materials for computer science and coding.  These kits and materials have enriched the curriculum with new hands-on learning activities.  The students have enjoyed the activities so much that the school is looking into purchasing some of the materials to call their own.  In the photo,  Ryann is feeding her LEGO dog a bone.  Her pet is programmed to bark, sit, and even act like he is using the bathroom - a virtual pet!
