At Middlesboro Independent School District (ISD), our district and campus leadership team is committed to empowering educators to provide our students with the highest level of support.
Similar to most public school districts, the decisions at Middlesboro ISD are guided by our community-elected School Board through public meetings and votes. The School Board oversees the superintendent, who manages the day-to-day operations of the district and its various campuses. Directly under the superintendent's purview is the executive cabinet, which, along with other executive directors, oversees departments serving the entire district. These departments encompass curriculum and instruction, facilities, finance, technology, and more.
Each Middlesboro ISD school is led by a dedicated principal who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of their respective campuses.
Our district prioritizes strong community connections, and families can expect regular communication from their school principals. We firmly believe fostering a sense of community is essential for maintaining a healthy school environment and promoting student success.

Welcome back, Yellow Jackets! As we gear up for another exciting school year, I am filled with enthusiasm and pride for what lies ahead. This marks my eighth year as your superintendent, and I am more committed than ever to ensuring our students, staff, and families have an outstanding and successful year.
Our district has always been a beacon of excellence, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our incredible educators, staff, students, and parents. This year promises to be filled with new opportunities for learning, growth, and community building. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, I want you to know that you are an essential part of the Middlesboro family.
Our commitment to providing a high-quality education remains steadfast. We will continue to implement innovative teaching strategies, support our teachers with professional development, and ensure our students have the resources they need to succeed. We are proud to prioritize STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education and project-based learning across our district. These approaches are critical in developing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. By engaging in hands-on projects, our students learn to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, preparing them for future success.
Additionally, this year we are excited to implement the Portrait of a Learner initiative, which aims to ensure our students are well-rounded individuals ready to thrive in a complex, ever-changing world. This initiative focuses on developing key competencies such as collaboration, communication, and adaptability, ensuring our students are equipped with the skills needed for lifelong success.
A strong community is the foundation of a great school district.
