Welcome to the Middlesboro Independent Schools where “Everyone Matters”. I am honored to serve as Superintendent of this school district.

The district consists of Middlesboro

Petition for Early Enrollment Early Enrollment

A child who is five (5) or who may become five (5) years of age by August 1 may enter primary

school and may advance through the primary program without regard to age in accordance with KRS 158.031


Parents/guardians may petition the Board by May 30th to allow their child to enter Kindergarten earlier

than permitted under statutory age requirements.  On receipt of a petition, the District shall conduct an evaluation process to help determine a student’s readiness to engage in and benefit from early entry to school.

Notice of Record Destruction

Middlesboro Independent Schools will be destroying old Special Education- Due Process Student Folders.  Folders destroyed will be those that have birth years of 1960-1989.  If you would like a copy of your records before the destruction occurs, please visit Middlesboro Board of Education and ask for Michele Goodin Schneider before May 15th 2018.

The academic team competed at state Governor's Cup on March 17-19, 2018.

Academic Team wins Region 4 years running! Governor's Cup

The academic team competed in the Regional Governor's Cup Competition on Saturday February 17, 2018.  They won first place overall for the 4th year in a row.
